Up in the Winds of Wyoming there's a creek with a 16 mile hike in, multiple ardous portages, steep continious whitewater, waterfalls, bears, mosquitos, and a huge adventure for those willing to battle the two pass two day hike in. Falling at 290 fpm average with sections over 400 fpm, this creek delivers amazing drops and rapids, but also serves up rugged and brutal portages. Here's a snippet of our five day trip riding the Bull.

(Rush hour in Lander)

(Gearing up at the Rez)

(1/2 Way up the Second Pass, Day 2)

(Hiking Windy Pass)

(Stomp, unfortunately the wood kept us from running it)

(Lakes section rapid)

(Fred on a Lakes section drop)

(At Hagen Dazen)

(Hagen Dazen)

(Jim Bridger Gorge)

(Jim Bridger)

(Last drop of the Bull Lake Falls, would be runnable if you could get into it ok)

(The run and gun V below the Bull Lake Falls, there are several miles of this off the cuff action)

(Day 5 Breakfast Drop, there's another good falls just downstream)

(The fishing is great throughout the canyon)

(Good falls Eli and I ran)

(Success!! Only 9 miles of flatwater to go)

In summary: Bull Lake demands constant attention and careful moves both on and off the water. If you think this is for you, try a few long hikes with a loaded boat before jumping on this one. Despite all the hardships, I will be back to paddle and hike this one again. Be stealth, be safe, and be ready for a challenge!
